Our Library Learning Commons Realized
A Vision Scrapbook of Ideas
2014 marked the year of our transformation to a Learning Commons. South Delta Secondary School underwent a seismic upgrade renovation and the library was a recipient of funds to help upgrade the space.
The Library Learning Commons supports and enhances student learning, reading, writing and use of technology. Through collaborative partnerships, we provide expertise, services and resources to support South Delta Secondary School and Delta School District’s goal for innovative teaching and learner success.
We will pursue our vision by:
Our guiding principles provide a road map for our Library Learning Commons vision.
We base our work on scholarship, learning from the best practices of others, and the use of knowledge and skills to develop and improve as teacher professionals.
We embrace creative ways in pursuit of our vision be being flexible, risk-takers, forward thinkers, embrace new ides and practices to vitalize out work.
We strive to be a diverse community in which the ideas, expertise, and perspectives of each individual are valued and respected.
We create opportunities to work with students, staff and teachers to enhance student learning.
We design, develop, and deliver programs and services that are accessible, relevant and effective, and where outcomes are regularly assessed to ensure continuous improvement.
